Anybody who knows me well knows that I have the biggest sweet tooth ever and dessert is my favorite meal of the day. When summertime comes all I think about is ice cream… just ask Conor, I think I ask him to take me out for ice cream like 5 times a day (luckily we don’t actually go that much otherwise we’d have a real problem). Last night instead of badgering him to take me out, I decided I would bring the ice cream store to us and I made some pretty incredible milkshakes. Normally I try and do all sorts of little tricks to keep my desserts semi-healthy, but not this time. I went all out and made us the most decadent milkshakes ever and they were to die for and so worth it!

Conor and I both love chocolate peanut butter cups so that was my flavor inspiration for these milkshakes. You can use regular Reese’s peanut butter cups that are found at pretty much every store, but if you can I would highly recommend using Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. I love all Justin’s products because they’re made with organic ingredients and I know that they’re way better for me than some of the alternatives. Plus, these DARK CHOCOLATE peanut butter cups are sooo good and add that rich dark chocolate flavor that I absolutely love.

I added some Nutella to our milkshakes too because… why not?! I have a Costco size jar of Nutella in my pantry at all times because it’s pretty much the most amazing thing ever and the chocolate hazelnut flavor goes great with the chocolate peanut butter cups. I used vanilla gelato for the base of my milkshake rather than ice cream simply because I love gelato and always have it in the freezer, but you can use ice cream or even frozen yogurt instead. I used almond milk in this recipe as my liquid, but you can use regular milk as well, again it’s just a personal preference. After you blend all these incredible ingredients together, serve them in glasses topped with whipped cream and even more crumbled chocolate peanut butter cups and enjoy this amazingly decadent, rich, and delicious milkshake… it’s sure to bring all the boys to your yard (yes, Conor, I said that)!
