7 Layer Dip

This classic appetizer is one of our party favorites with layers and layers (7 to be exact) of delicious ingredients, elevated with some extra flavor and seasoning!
Servings: 6 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream or Greek yogurt (that's what we prefer)
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime juiced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup salsa choose whatever variety you like best
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 3 Roma tomatoes diced
  • 4 green onions sliced thin
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 lime juiced
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • 1 bag Tortilla chips for serving

Method
 

  1. Combine the refried beans and taco seasoning together in a bowl then spread on the bottom of an 8x8” baking dish.
  2. Spread the sour cream (or Greek yogurt) in a layer on top of the refried beans.
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the avocados with the lime juice, salt, and pepper. Then spread in a layer on top of the sour cream.
  4. Spread the salsa in a layer on top of the avocado.
  5. Sprinkle the cheese in a layer on top of the salsa
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, and lime juice. Then spread in a layer on top of the cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the olives on top of the tomato mixture.
  8. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve with tortilla chips (do not make more than a day in advance).
