Chocolate Truffles

Homemade Chocolate Truffles are the sweetest (and most delicious) way to show some love to all your favorite people - and yourself of course!
Servings: 24 truffles

Ingredients
  

For the Truffles
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips dark chocolate and/or semi sweet depending on personal preference
For the Toppings (choose your favorites, quantities are based on 6 truffles of each so adjust accordingly)
  • 1/4 cup almonds finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 cup sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Place cream, butter, and almond extract in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on medium power for about 3 minutes.
  2. Add chocolate chips, let stand 1 minute, then stir well until blended.
  3. Refrigerate 1 hour until firm enough to scoop.
  4. Scoop mixture into about 1 inch balls and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Roll balls in toppings of your choice then refrigerate until serving.
